PRIVACY STATEMENT
(Latest update: January 1, 2010)
We appreciate the opportunity to interact with you on the internet and are
committed to protecting and safeguarding your privacy. The purpose of this
Statement is to inform you about the types of information we might collect about
you when you visit
www.rearad.com and other
RearAd Web sites that link to this Statement (collectively, our “Sites”), how we
may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you
have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct, that information. From
time to time, we may supplement this Statement with additional information
relating to a particular interaction we have with you.
Information We Collect
The primary reason that we collect certain personal information is to
provide the best possible level of customer service. It enables us to deliver
service and product announcements, updates and special offers as well as provide
convenient and personalized user access and improve the features and usability
of our services. Any information we collect on our Sites generally falls into
the following two categories:
1. Personal Information
This refers to information that lets us know who you are or things
specifically about you.
·
Visitors
You can browse our Sites as a visitor without revealing any personally
identifiable information (“Personal Information”). If you want to register, you
may voluntarily provide Personal Information (such as name, address, email
address, a telephone number) to us for the purpose of contacting you, including
via email, to assist with registration and customer service. In such event, we
might maintain a record of your contact, including such Personal Information, in
a file specific to you. We use this information to provide better service in the
event that you contact us again.
·
Registration
When you register to become a Mobile Ambassador, to participate in a
RearAd affiliate program or in connection with other RearAd partner programs, we
will collect Personal Information, including general contact information such as
name, address, email address and telephone number, demographic information such
as driving habits and automobile usage, and other information that may
personally identify you. This Personal Information is securely stored and may be
accessed under “My Driver Profile”. You are assigned an identification number
and select your own password – both are needed to access your “My Driver
Profile”.
2. Aggregate Information
This refers to information that does not, by
itself, identify you as a specific individual.
Such information would include the Uniform
Resource Locator ("URL") of the website that referred you to our Sites, your
Internet Protocol ("IP") address (a number automatically assigned to your
computer whenever you surf the web), your operating system and browser type, and
any search terms that you enter on our Sites. Our web server aggregates this
information in order to monitor the level of activity on our Sites, evaluate its
effectiveness, and improve the content of our Sites in order to make your visit
an easy and enjoyable experience.
We may collect, compile, store, publish, promote,
report, or otherwise disclose or use any aggregate information, provided that
such information does not personally identify you. We do not correlate any
Personal Information with the aggregate information that we collect on our
Sites. If we do correlate any aggregate information to you, it will be protected
like any other Personal Information under this Privacy Statement.

Cookies, Web Beacons and Other Technologies
As mentioned above, we collect information from
your visits to our Sites to help us gather statistics about our Sites’ usage and
effectiveness, personalize your experience on our sites, and tailor our
interactions with you.
We do so through the use of various technologies,
including one called "cookies". A cookie is a piece of data that a Web site can
send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer as a tag that
identifies your computer. While cookies are often only used to measure Web site
usage and effectiveness and to allow for ease of navigation or use and as such,
are not associated with any Personal Information, they are also used at times to
personalize a known visitor’s experience to a Web site by being associated with
profile information or user preferences. You can set your browser in most
instances to notify you before you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to
decide whether to accept it or not. You can also generally set your browser to
turn off cookies. Since cookies allow you to take advantage of some of our
Sites’ features, we recommend that you leave them turned on. If you block or
otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able, for instance, to add items
to your shopping cart, proceed to checkout, or use any Web site services that
require you to sign in.
Our Site may also use Web beacon or other
technologies to better tailor the site to provide better customer service. These
technologies may be in use on a number of pages across our Sites. When a visitor
accesses these pages, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which
may be processed by us or by our suppliers. These Web beacons usually work in
conjunction with cookies. If you don't want your cookie information to be
associated with your visits to these pages, you can set your browser to turn off
cookies. If you turn off cookies, Web beacon and other technologies will still
detect visits to these pages; however, they will not be associated with
information otherwise stored in cookies.
We may also include Web beacons in marketing e-mail
messages or our newsletters in order to determine whether messages have been
opened and links contained within clicked on.
Some of our business partners set Web beacons and
cookies on our site. We have no access or control of these third party tracking
technologies.
Links to non-RearAd Web sites
Our Sites may contain links to non-RearAd Web sites
that are not affiliated with RearAd. RearAd is not responsible for the privacy
practices or the content of those other Web sites.
Notification of Changes
We will post a notice for 30 days at the top of
this page notifying users when this Privacy Statement is updated or modified in
a material way. If we are going to use your Personal Information in a manner
different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you, and
you will have a choice as to whether or not we can use your Personal Information
in such a way.
